Danish International Development Aid (Danida)

• Danida is the term used for Denmark’s development cooperation, which is an area of activity under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark. Denmark’s development policy aims to combat poverty through promotion of human rights and economic growth.
  Danida has responsibility for the planning, implementation and quality assurance of Denmark’s development cooperation. There are local and posted staff at Danish embassies and missions abroad who are responsible for the administration and management of Denmark’s development cooperation with the individual country.

Universities, Business & Research in Agriculture INnovation (UniBRAIN)

• UniBRAIN is an initiative for advancing agribusiness incubation and improved agribusiness education in Africa. It is supported by Royal Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Danida), and facilitated by a team of seven partner institutions. One of these is the Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA), which hosts the UniBRAIN coordination unit at its Secretariat in Accra, Ghana.

Forum for Agriculture Research in Africa (FARA)

• FARA is the Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa, an umbrella organization bringing together and forming coalitions of major stakeholders in agricultural research and development in Africa. FARA complements the innovative activities of national, international and sub-regional research institutions to deliver more responsive and effective services to its stakeholders. It plays advocacy and coordination roles for agricultural research for development, while the national agricultural research systems (NARS), advanced research institutions (ARIs) and international agricultural research centres (IARCs) develop improved technologies along the research-to-development continuum in their respective countries and coverage areas.
